‘1000-Lb. Sisters’ Star Amy Slaton Arrested on Charges of Drug Possession and Child Endangerment

The Crockett County Sheriff’s Department announced Amy Slaton’s arrest following an incident at Tennessee Safari Park. The 1000lb Sisters star was arrested on Monday, September 2, after authorities responded to a Labor Day complaint about a zoo attendee allegedly being bitten by a camel.

“Upon arrival, deputies were immediately overtaken by suspicious odors coming from the guest’s vehicle,” the police department wrote on its official Facebook page. Officials verified that Amy Slaton Halterman was “arrested on illegal possession of Schedule I, illegal possession of Schedule VI, and two counts of child endangerment.”

Brian Scott Lovvorn was also in the vehicle and faces the same accusations, according to police. “Both subjects have been booked into the Crockett County Jail,” the tweet said. “The charges and claims mentioned in this statement are simply accusations of criminal conduct, not evidence. The offender is deemed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt and convicted under due process of law.”

Amy, 36, has been on TLC’s 1000-Lb. Sisters since 2020, co-starring with her sister Tammy Slaton. She underwent bariatric surgery in 2019 and shed over 175 pounds by the end of 2023. Amy had a terrible year, as her husband, Michael Halterman, filed for divorce in March 2023 after four years of marriage. He listed their split date as one month earlier, in February 2023. During their divorce procedures, the two agreed on a custody plan for their boys Gage, four, and Glenn, two.

“Michael and I are sharing custody,” Amy stated in a February episode of 1000-Lb. Sisters, which documented her divorce. “I get the boys 70 percent of the time, Michael gets ’em 30.”

Before reaching that arrangement, Michael, 41, demanded 50/50 custody, which Amy denied. “I was the chef, I was the cook, I was the nanny, I was everything in that house,” she kept saying. “He was the video game player.” During the hearing, Michael claimed to be a “equal parent,” which surprised Amy.

“I raise those children. “I made the bath water,” she exclaimed. “You don’t know how your f–king son enjoys his bath water, so don’t fool with me. There should be no incentive for him to spend more time with the kids if he isn’t going to care for them. Your mother will have the children, not you.”

Amy began documenting her new relationship with Kevin in February. She posted images of their first few dates on TikTok. By March, they appeared to have split up, as she intimated on social media that she was freshly single.

“Life is already difficult. “I don’t want to be around people who make things worse,” she wrote at the time. She also responded to a fan in the comments area of one of her TikTok videos, writing, “I love you all, it’s been a rough few days, and f–k him! “I’m not crying over his loser ass.”
