Boyfriend, Landlord Charged in Presumed Death of Woman Who Disappeared During Walk to Friend’s Home

A missing woman’s boyfriend and the owner of the Arizona ranch where the couple lived have been charged with her abduction and presumed death.

Cavett Jack Richards, 36, was charged with second-degree murder, conspiracy, and concealing a dead body on Wednesday, along with his girlfriend, Shayna Feinman, 35, according to the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office. William Thomas DalCerro, 58, is facing charges for his suspected role in Feinman’s killing, according to officials. DalCerro owned the property where Feinman and Richards had lived.

Feinman, who is originally from New York but moved to Arizona a few years ago, went missing on March 9 in the Peach Springs/Hyde Park region near Seligman, Arizona, according to investigators. She was on her way to a nearby friend’s house but never arrived. Seligman is located in the northern section of the state, more than 75 miles west of Flagstaff.

According to a news release from the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office, her vehicle, which had her wallet and ID, was discovered near the property where she and her boyfriend were vacationing.

Her cellphone was recovered on a nearby property.

Authorities initially booked Richards and DalCerro into the Yavapai County Jail in April on weapons violations, tampering with evidence, and possession of a stolen vehicle while gathering evidence in Feinman’s disappearance and presumed death, before adding the Feinman charges this week, according to officials.

Her body has not been located. A $10,000 reward is being offered for any credible information leading to her location. She is listed as 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighing 140 pounds. She was last spotted in sweatpants with sports shorts over them, a jacket, and green hiking boots.

A witness told independent Phoenix-based TV station KTVK and local CBS affiliate KPHO, which broadcast together as “Arizona’s Family,” that before Feinman vanished, she overheard an argument between her and her landlord, who informed her that she could no longer remain in the cabin.

“They were yelling and screaming at each other,” the witness reported. “He’s like, ‘You need to leave. I’m calling the sheriff. She says, ‘I need to fetch my phone and keys.'”

Feinman’s sister, Kara Feinman, told local NBC affiliate KPNX that she had informed friends that she felt endangered.

“She has expressed dread and a lack of safety on multiple occasions. And it’s difficult to read those things because if I had realized how dangerous and afraid she was at any of those times, I believe I would have been there. I would have flown out of there. “I would not have put her in this situation where she felt so unsafe that something terrible happened,” she told the channel. “I do not believe she was in a good relationship. I don’t think they treated each other well.
