Prosecutors Reveal Missing Nurse Mamta Kafle Bhatt’s Husband Searched for ‘How Long to Get Married After Spouse Dies

Multiple news outlets say that the husband of a Virginia mother who hasn’t been seen since late July showed up in court after being charged with hiding a dead body. Prosecutors showed some shocking internet searches that he is said to have made.

There were charges brought against Naresh Bhatt by the Manassas Park Police Department on August 22. He had been caught in connection with the disappearance of his wife, Mamta Kafle Bhatt.

The last time cops saw Kafle, a 28-year-old pediatric nurse, was on July 27. As of this writing, nobody has been found. In the news report about Bhatt’s arrest, police said they are still looking for the mother who went missing.

Reports from WUSA, 7News, and WTOP say that Bhatt was arraigned in court in Prince William County, Virginia, on Friday, August 23. According to the news sources, on August 26, a judge decided that Bhatt would be held without bond because he was a flight risk. It is not yet clear if he made a formal plea.

WUSA said that Bhatt was charged after searching Google in April for “How long does it take to get married when a spouse dies?” and “What happens to debt died, spouse.” 7News also reported on the first supposed Google search.

According to the news sources, officials said at a hearing that blood was found in the couple’s bedroom and shower when their home was searched.

Investigators searching the family home told 10 WAVY that things were a mess, but many things were already boxed up and ready to go, including Bhatt’s passport and the passports of his 1-year-old daughter.

Prosecutors said that Bhatt had sold his car and was thinking about selling their home in the weeks before Kafle went missing.

Prosecutors also said that Bhatt is said to have gone to Chantilly on July 30 and bought three knives. As of this writing, two of the knives have not been found.

They kept writing that he went back to Chantilly the next day, July 31, to buy cleaning products.

Even though there isn’t a body yet, 7News said that “every sign” led to Kafle being death.

Bhatt’s public attorney said at the bond hearing that there wasn’t as much blood in the house as the prosecutors said.

According to WUSA, the defense lawyer said, “That’s maybe a nosebleed.”

According to WTOP, the defense said that since there was nobody, there was no proof to even suggest that Kafle was dead.

Police said that the Department of Social Services is taking care of the couple’s daughter right now. As of this writing, over $200,000 had been raised on GoFundMe to help the child and Kafle’s family.
