BEDFORD COUNTY, PA.— Court records show that a guy from Bedford County who was just charged with neglecting an animal is now also accused of putting a gun in a woman’s mouth.
A 41-year-old man from Queen named Robert Lee Thompson is being charged with simple assault, reckless endangerment, and terroristic threats. This comes less than 48 hours after state police charged him with animal abuse.
Thompson was charged with neglecting an animal on August 26. Based on the criminal charge, state police were called around 5 a.m. on Wednesday, August 28, after a woman said he put a rifle barrel in her mouth during an argument.
The woman said that they fought over Thompson’s things that were in her SUV. According to what she told the police, Thompson got worse and put the gun in her mouth. She said he then hid the gun before the cops showed up.
A third person who was in the house told police that they heard the two fighting but did not see a gun, according to the lawsuit.
It is important to note that Thompson said on social media on Tuesday night that he was not guilty of animal abuse charges because he was only taking care of the four dogs and did not own them.
On top of the assault charge, Thompson was arrested and put in Bedford County Prison with a $300,000 bail bond. He was charged with animal abuse and given a summons.
